Casting announced for Spike at the Watermill


Casting has been announced for Spike at the Watermill Theatre, based on the life of Spike Milligan.

John Dagleish will play the role of Spike, with Margaret Cabourn-Smith as Janet, George Kemp as Peter Sellers, Jeremy Lloyd as Harry Secombe, James Mack as Denis Main-Wilson/Peter Eton, Ellie Morris as June and Robert Mountford as BBC Executive.

Wicked Movie announces search for Nessarose

An open casting search has been launched to search for a Nessarose for the upcoming movie adaptation of Wicked.

The character uses a wheelchair in Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman’s musical, the film, directed by In the Heights‘ Jon M Chu, and they are looking to cast authentically, stating it is searching for “actors who are wheelchair users (ambulatory and non-ambulatory) are strongly encouraged to submit for the role”.

The film is looking for a “female, 18-30” performer of any ethnicity. Anyone interested should email wickedfilmcasting@gmail.com with an unlisted YouTube link including a video where the individual should describe themselves and their passions.

Anything Goes to be shown on BBC

It has been announced that the barbican theatre production of Anything Goes, which was recorded and recently shown in cinemas, is set to be shown on the BBC this Christmas.

The show, which starred Sutton Foster as Reno Sweeney, alongside Robert Lindsay as Moonface Martin, Felicity Kendal as Evangeline Harcourt and Gary Wilmot as Elisha Whitney will be shown on BBC Two at 6.40pm on Boxing Day. It will then be available to watch on iPlayer

Casting announced for UK Tour of The Da Vinci Code


Complete casting has now been announced for the upcoming stage adaptation of Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code.

Joining Nigel Harman as Robert Langdon, Danny John-Jules as Sir Leigh Teabing and Hannah Rose Caton as Sophie Neveu, will be Basienka Blake as Vernet, Alasdair Buchan as Remy, Alpha Kargbo as Fache, Joshua Lacy as Silas, Leigh Lothian as Colette/Sophie understudy, Andrew Lewis as Sauniere and Debra Michaels as Sandrine/Grandmother

Bugsy Malone to tour the UK


It has been announced that the Lyric Hammersmith production of Bugsy Malone will tour the uk next year.

It will star 39 young performers including 3 teams of 7 children.

It is set to open at Theatre Royal Bath, running from 2 to 23 July 2022 with a national press night on 12 July, before heading to Birmingham Rep and Southampton Mayflower. Further tour dates are to be announced.
