The news that has had theatre land talking this week includes...


Casting announced for The Time Machine



Casting has been announced for the upcoming UK Tour of The Time Machine, a retelling of the novel by H.G Wells.

The show will star Mischief Theatre founding member Dave Hearn alongside Amy Revelle and Michael Dylan

After opening in late February in Ipswich, the show will visit Derby, York, Eastbourne, Malvern, Bolton and Bath.

Eugenius! to return


It has been announced that fan favourite Eugenius! is to return to London, running at the Turbine theatre in a new reworked form.

The show is set to open on 17 March 2023, running through to 28 May with casting and creative team to be announced.

John McCrea and Aimee Lou Wood to star in Cabaret


New faces will be heading to the Kit Kat Club from February 13th.

It has been announced that John McCrea will take on the role of Emcee with Aimee Lou Wood joining the production as Sally Bowles.

Hosts for WhatsonStage awards announced

The hosts for next month’s WhatsonStage awards have been announced

Three well loved performers will be sharing the hosting duty’s this year, each for the first time. The hosts will be Legally Blonde leading lady Courtney Bowman, Spring Awakening’s Laurie Kynaston and &Juliet’s Billy Luke Nevers.

Initial casting announced for Grease

First casting has been announced for Grease, which returns to the Dominion Theatre this summer.

Dan Partridge, Olivia Moore and Jocasta Almgill are set to return to the production, playing the roles of Danny, Sandy and Rizzo respectively.

Louise Redknapp will take on the role of Teen Angel, saying “As the biggest fan of Grease growing up I was thrilled to be asked to join the cast in the role of Teen Angel. Traditionally seen as a male role, I’m excited to be given the opportunity to shake it up and play it from a new perspective under the direction of Nikolai Foster.”
