The news that has had theatre land talking this week includes


Matilda extends West End Run


It has been confirmed that Matilda the musical will be ‘revolting’ in the west end for a little bit longer, extending its booking period through to spring 2024.

Running at the Cambridge Theatre, the cast are also due to perform at Manchester’s Big Night of Musicals on 27 February

Burt Bacharach has passed away at the age of 94

Songwriter and performer Burt Bacharach has sadly passed away at the age of 94, leaving behind a legacy of musical success

Often in collaboration with Hal David, Bacharach wrote 73 top 40 songs including what the world needs now and raindrops keep falling on my head. He also worked on musical Promises Promises.

The Time Traveller’s Wife to run in London

Following a preview season at the Storehouse in Chester, it has been announced that the new musical adaptation of The Time Travellers Wife will run in London

The show which is set to star Joanna Woodward and David Hunter, will run at the Apollo Theatre, opening. on 7 October 2023.

Newsies extends London run

It has been announced that Newsies has extended its booking period, and will now be running at the Troubadour Wembley Park theatre until 30 July

The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe to run in Birmingham

It has been confirmed that the popular stage adaptation of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe will run in Birmingham this Christmas

The show will play a festive season at the Birmingham Rep , running 14 November to 28 January
