What do burnout, Sexy KFC, and your homophobic Aunt Sharon have in common?

Well, up and coming musical theatre comedienne Tammy Woodburn is determined to find out as her potential new manager challenges her to be more honest on stage. Using original songs, stand up, and painfully awkward family conversations (hello Aunt Sharon), she finds the line between truth and the punchline in SMILE, a sharp one-women musical comedy about burnout, identity and the pressure to always keep everyone smiling.

Blending biting humour, original music and impressive instrumentation, Tammy Woodburn is here with one want, and that is to make you smile, so why don't you let her try?

I spoke to the show's creators Very Serious, who stated 'It's a lot of fun playing with lots of different instruments to stage and play in different ways but means that the stage can get very busy haha. We're going into rehearsals for this run of the play starting in April so I'm excited to see what goes wrong and what goes right (and which of those make it into the show)'.

The Drayton Arms Theatre

SMILE runs at the Drayton Arms Theatre, a boutique studio theatre above the Drayton Arms Pub on Old Brompton Road, London, between 5th - 9th May 2026 at 7.30pm.
