In the Deep Dark Wood, a fairy tale baddie lives with his villainous cronies. But their days are not spent hiding in the shadows, no, instead this Big Bad Wolf is rocking out and enjoying life far away from the goody-goody townsfolk. And if you want to learn what really happened to Little Red Riding Hood and know whether or not the Three Little Pigs went on to have thriving careers in techno music, then you need to join The Plandits in the Actors Church, Covent Garden to see if the Fairy Godmother can persuade the hardened carnivore that there is more to life than huffing, puffing and causing trouble.

The cast of the big bad wolf

Following on from a successful UK Tour in 2025, open-air theatre company The Plandits are back again with The Big Bad Wolf, a high-energy, rock-fuelled musical packed with audience interaction, live music and a fresh twist on some of the best known, best-loved fairy tales. Full of original songs, larger-than-life characters and plenty of comedy, The Big Bad Wolf is a madcap musical adventure about friendship, redemption and discovering that people aren't always what they seem.

Combining fast-paced storytelling, live instruments and a great sense of humour, The Plandits have created an experience that both children and adults will enjoy, and ahead of heading to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The Big Bad Wolf will be presented at The Actors Church, Covent Garden as part of their Theatre in the Garden season on both 30th and 31st July.

The Plandits, founded in 2024, specialist in original touring productions bringing together live music, storytelling and outdoor theatre and last year performed The Big Bad Wolf across 18 counties throughout England and Wales, performing to thousands of audience members.
