Casting announced for the UK Tour of Bugsy Malone

Casting has been announced for the upcoming UK Tour of Bugsy Malone which kicks off in July

The role of Bugsy will be shared between Shaun Sharma, Gabriel Payne and Amar Blackman with Mia Lakha, Delilah Bennett-Cardy and Avive Williams sharing the role of Blousey. Albie Snelson, Isham Sankoh and Charlie Burns will share the role of Fat Sam, Taziva-Faye Katsande, Jasmine Sakyiama and Fayth Ifil will share the role of Talluah, Aiden Oti, jamie Northey-Dennis and one other will share the part of Fizzy, Cherry Mitra, Kayla-Mai Alvares and Ava Hope Smith will share the roles of Lena and Babyface and Rayhaan Kufuor-Gray, Kit Cranston and Desmond Cole will share the role of Dandy Dan.

The adult cast includes Georgia Pemberton, Alisha Capon, Lucy Young, D’Mia Lindsay Walker, Jessica Daugrida, Alicia Ally, Alicia Belgarde, Esme Bacalla-Hayes, Luchia Moss, Kalifa Burton, Rory Fraser, Andile Mabhena, Thomas Walton, Ru Fisher, Mohamed Bangura, Marcus Billany, Luke Mills and Will Lucas.

Come from Away announces new cast members

New and returning cast members have been announced for Come From Away this week, who will be joining the show next month

Kirsty Malpass will return to the role of Bonnie and Others, with Robert Hands returning to the roles of Nick/Doug and others. They will be joined by new cast members Lejaun Sheppard as Bob and others alongside Sarah Morrison and Lucy Park.

They will join currant cast members Jenna Boyd, James Doherty, Mark Dugdale, Gemma Knight Jones, Alice Fearn, Kate Graham, Jonathan Andrew Hume, Harry Morrison and Emma Salvo. The ensemble includes Chiara Baronti, Ricardo Castro, Stuart Hickey, Alexander McMorran, Jennifer Tierney and Matthew Whennell-Clark.

Spike to tour the UK

It has been announced that the Watermill production of Spike, which follows the story of Spike Milligan, will tour later this year with John Dagleish repricing his role as Spike.

The show will open in Cheltenham on September 6 before visiting Malvern, Guildford, Oxford, Salisbury, Brighton, Aylesbury, Glasgow, Richmond, Blackpool and Cardiff.

John Dagleish said: “I’m so thrilled to be playing Spike Milligan again and take this fantastically funny play around the country in what will be my first ever touring production. Such a brilliant script, with a wonderfully talented cast, celebrating the life and work of one of the all-time comedy greats.”

Cast for filmed version of Heathers announced

Casting has been confirmed for the live capture of Heathers, which is being filmed this week.

The filmed version will include Ailsa Davidson as Veronica Sawyer, Simon Gordon as JD, Maddison Firth as Heather Chandler, Vivian Panka as Heather Duke and Teleri Hughes as Heather McNamara. Vicki Lee Taylor will star as Mrs Fleming/Veronica’s mum with Mhairi Angus as Martha Dunnstock, Liam Doyle as Kurt Kelly, Rory Phelan as Ram Sweeney, Oliver Brooks as Kurt’s Dad/Big bud Dean/Coach Ripper, Andy Brady as Ram’s Dad/Principle Gowan/Veronica’s Dad, Benjamin Karran as Beleaguered geek, Chris Parkinson as Hipster Dork/officer McCord, Jermaine Woods as Peppy Stud/Officer Milner, Eleanor Morrison Halliday as young republicanette, Mary-Jean Caldwell as stoner chick, Hannah Lowther as new wave party girl and May Tether as drama club drama queen.

A release date is still to be announced.

Musicals set to perform at Queen’s jubilee celebration

It has been announced that a number of musical treats will be in store at the Queen’s platinum party at the palace celebration, which will be shown live on tv on Saturday 4 June

Performances will include appearances from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Lin-Manuel Miranda plus the casts of The Phantom of the Opera, Hamilton, Six and Joseph and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat
