More Movie Musicals added to BBC iPlayer


Much loved movie musicals South Pacific and Carousel have been added to BBC iPlayer, along with Kiss Me Kate and Guys and Dolls, giving you plenty to choose from when it comes to watching musicals at home this Christmas

South Pacific to be streamed on New Years Eve

Chichester Festival Theatre’s acclaimed production of South Pacific is set to be streamed online on New Years Eve.

The cast includes Gina Beck as Nellie, Julian Ovenden as Emile, Joanna Ampil as Bloody Mary, Keir Charles as Luther Billis and Rob Houchen as Cable.

The show will be available to watch online for 24 hours from 5pm on New Years Eve

More Musicals on TV

More shows have been added to the TV Schedule for this Christmas including Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake on 30 December at 6.45am, Walden at 11pm on 30 December, Cats at 1pm on New Years Day and Billy Elliot at 1.35am on 2 January

Musicals: The Greatest Show will be shown again on BBC 2 on New Years Eve, with the Red Shoes being shown on 9 January at 7.25pm

More show saving at Les Miserables

This week, to ensure that the show could go ahead, former Cosette Charlotte Kennedy returned to the show for the first time in 2 years to play the role of Cosette with just four hours notice having not performed in the new version of the show before.

John Owen Jones also returned to the production with no rehearsal to cover the role of Jean Valjean

Tributes paid to Sally Ann Howes

Tributes have been paid to the Tony award nominated actress Sally Ann Howes, famed for her appearance as Truly Scrumptious in the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang movie, after she passed away at the age of 91 this week
